11.   Patch Panel
　

1)  Application

Patch panel is used in machine room or distribution room for distribution of CAT. 5e trunk lines and connection of terminal equipment and network exchange equipment. It is for standard 19" installation.

2)  Structure

a) RJ45 jacks on the front side for connection of work area terminals with network exchanger:

b) 110 IDC termination modules on the rear side for vertically or horizontally cabling:

3)  Materials

a) Plastic Parts: flame-retardant PC ( conforming to GB4609/FV-0 grade or UL94V-0 );
b) IDC Terminals: bronze with silver-plating;
c)  RJ45 Pins: bronze with gold-plating.

4)  Mechanical Properties

a) Frequency of Operations: IDC terminal: termination more than 200 times;RJ45 jack: pull-off and plug-in more than 750 times;
b) Suggested External Diameter of Terminated Wire: less than 1.27 mm;
c) Suggested Conductor diameter of Terminated Wire: 0.40 mm ~ 0.65 mm.

    5)  Electrical Properties

a) Insulation Resistance: more than 1,000 Mohm;
b) No Spark-over under DC 1,000 v/min;
c) Termination Resistance: less than 20 mohm under normal atmospheric condition.
